How to verify your documents

If you need to include official documentation with your application to study with us, you don't send the originals. You send copies that have been verified as a true and accurate copy.

Who needs to submit verified documents?

You need to submit verified documents if you are an Australian citizen or permanent resident with overseas qualifications. If you hold Australian qualifications, you don't need to unless you are applying for one of these courses and haven't uploaded documents via My eQuals:

  • Bachelor of Social Science (Psychology)(Hons)
  • Bachelor of Teaching (Primary)
  • Bachelor of Teaching (Secondary)
  • Postgraduate Diploma of Psychology
  • Master of Clinical Psychology
  • Master of Teaching (Primary)
  • Master of Teaching (Secondary)

Who can verify documents?

  • The official records department of the institution that issued the document(s).
  • Someone currently employed as a professional person, such as a:
    • bank manager or credit union branch manager
    • accountant (must be a member of a professional organisation)
    • barrister, solicitor or patent attorney
    • police officer of the rank of sergeant and above
    • postal manager
    • principal of an Australian secondary college, high school, primary school or TAFE college.
  • A registered Justice of the Peace.

How does someone verify your documents?

On each page of any document you are submitting, the person verifying them must write 'This is a true copy of the original document sighted by me.' They then sign and date the page. They must also print their name, address, telephone number and profession.

If their professional organisation has a stamp, they should stamp each page. If they are a Justice of the Peace, they must print their registration number and the state they're registered in as well.

How do I submit my verified documents?

Simply log in to your application and you'll be able to upload your verified documents.
