TAFE students
If you have a TAFE or VET qualification, we know you’ve got what it takes to succeed at uni. And you can use one of our TAFE to uni pathways to get started.
You’ve already proven your focus, determination and study skills. That’s why you could get:
- credit for your previous study. That means shaving time (and costs!) off your degree
- guaranteed entry into lots of our courses.
How does it work?
We’ll assess your prior qualifications, experience and career goals to find the perfect pathway to get you where you want to go. Here are just some of the pathways you could access if you have one of the following qualifications.*
Any Certificate III or above
Pathway
Guaranteed entry into most of our bachelor’s degrees.
Career options
You’ll have a wide range of paths ahead of you with a bachelor’s degree. How about a career in agriculture, business, healthcare, IT or science?
Any diploma from TAFE
Pathway
You could get two years of credit toward a Bachelor of Education Studies.
Career options
After finishing your Bachelor of Education Studies you’ll just need eight more subject credits to complete a bachelor's or master's of teaching – to become a qualified teacher.
Certificate III or Certificate IV in Education Support
Pathway
Two years of credit toward a Bachelor of Education Studies.
Career options
After finishing your Bachelor of Education Studies you’ll just need eight more subject credits to complete a bachelor's or master's of teaching – to become a qualified teacher.
Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing
Pathway
Six months of credit toward a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.
Career options
Want to take the next step in your career working with animals? With this degree you could become an animal health scientist, animal welfare officer, manager of intensive animal industries, pathology laboratory scientist or veterinary technician.
Diploma of Children's Services, Community Services or Early Childhood Education and Care
Pathway
Two years of credit toward a Bachelor of Education (Birth to Five Years).
Career options
Take your career to the next level. Become an early childhood teacher or director of an early childhood centre.
Diploma of Community Services, Community Development, Counselling, Disability, Youth Work or Mental Health
Pathway
One year of credit toward a Bachelor of Social Work.
Career options
You’ll be in demand in social work. Become a case manager, community development officer, health and community services officer or individual and family counsellor.
Diploma of Nursing (with AHPRA registration)
Pathway
One year of credit toward a Bachelor of Nursing.
Career options
Become a registered nurse. You could work in public and private hospitals, health facilities, community health centres, defence forces, primary and secondary industries, insurance companies, mental health services or workplace health and safety organisations.

To be considered for a TAFE/VET admission pathway, all you need to do is apply for your chosen course – and supply the original transcripts of your previous qualifications. We’ll then assess your eligibility.
