Welcome back - International

Welcome back

Charles Sturt University welcomes the NSW Government’s announcement that fully vaccinated student visa holders and other eligible visa holders can travel to Australia without needing to apply for a travel exemption effective 15 December 2021.

Arrival

Test on arrival

All fully vaccinated international travellers arriving in NSW must take a COVID-19 rapid antigen test (RATs) approved in Australia within 24 hours of arriving in NSW and isolate until they receive a negative result.

A follow up rapid antigen test is required on or after day six after arriving in NSW. A test on day 12 is strongly recommended. Please see the approved list of RATs on the Therapeutic Goods Administration website. For more information please visit the Study NSW website.

Vaccines

You must be fully vaccinated

Visa holders travelling to Australia must satisfy Australia’s definition of ‘fully vaccinated’ for international travel purposes. Australia’s definition might be different to the ones that apply in the student’s home country and/or transit countries.  The definition of the category ‘fully vaccinated for travel to Australia’ may be found at: Vaccinated travellers | COVID-19.

The University has missed the many positive contributions that international students make to both our campuses and local communities. We look forward to welcoming international students back to our campuses for a happy and safe 2022.
