Man and woman charged over break and enter - South Sydney PAC

A man and woman have been charged over a break and enter where it will be alleged that a pistol was produced.

About 2.45am yesterday (18 September 2024), officers from South Sydney Police Area Command responded to reports of a break and enter a unit on Wellington Street, Waterloo.

Officers were informed that the occupants – a 22-year-old man and a 20-year-old woman – exited the unit after being woken by a male and female not known to them.

Whilst outside the unit it will be alleged the occupants were confronted by the male holding a pistol and the woman in possession of a glass bottle.

Following a brief conversation, the man holding the pistol and the woman in company with him left the scene on foot.

A short time later patrolling police located the couple in Pitt Street, Waterloo.

The woman was arrested but the man ran from the location.

Police conveyed the 19-year-old woman to Mascot Police Station where she was charged with aggravated break & enter and commit serious indicatable offence – people there and stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm.

She was refused bail to appear at the Downing Centre Local Court on the same day where she was remanded in custody to re-appear at the same court on Thursday 14 November 2024.

About 7.45pm, the man – aged 18 – was arrested at a unit in Pitt Street Waterloo.

Police will allege that a replica pistol was located in the vicinity.

The man was taken to Mascot Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break & enter and commit serious indicatable offence – people there, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm, possess unauthorised firearm and acquire etc firearm - subject to prohibition order.

He was bail refused to appear later today (Thursday 19 September 2024) at the Downing Centre Local Court.

There were no reports of any person being injured.
