Human remains found at beach identified - Newcastle

Human remains found near Newcastle have been identified as a man reported missing last year.

About 3pm on Monday 26 August 2024, a man located a bone on the shoreline at Stockton Beach, and reported it to police attached to Newcastle City Police District.

Following forensic tests, the remains have been identified as a 20-year-old man reported missing from Stockton Beach on Sunday 26 November 2023.

Inquiries indicate the death is not suspicious and a report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
