Escapee located - Silverwater

An inmate who escaped from Corrective Services NSW custody in Sydney’s southwest yesterday has been located.

The 44-year-old man was last seen on Jamieson Street, Silverwater, around 1.30pm yesterday (Friday 20 September 2024).

Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command were notified and immediately commenced inquiries to locate him.

Following inquiries, the man was located in Lethbridge Park.

He was taken to Mount Druitt Police Station where he was charged with escaping lawful custody.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Parramatta Local Court later today (Saturday 21 September 2024).
