Two charged over alleged suspicious fire - Northern Beaches

Two people have been charged following an investigation into an alleged suspicious fire on Sydney’s northern beaches last year, under Strike Force Syringa.
About 10pm Sunday 2 April 2023, emergency services were called to Fisher Road North, Cromer, following reports of a vehicle fire.
Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command found a parked truck well alight.
NSW Fire and Rescue crews attended and extinguished the blaze, but the truck was destroyed.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Following extensive inquiries, police arrested a 21-year-old man in Wauchope on Monday (14 October 2024).
He was taken to Port Macquarie Police Station, where he was charged with damage property by fire/explosive over $15,000.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Port Macquarie Local Court on Wednesday 27 November 2024.
Following further inquiries, a 38-year-old woman was arrested at Cromer yesterday (Wednesday 16 October 2024).
She was taken to Manly Police Station, where she was charged with dishonestly for gain damage property by fire/ explosive.
She was refused bail to appear before Manly Local Court today (Thursday 17 October 2024).
