Appeal for information following aggravated break and enter - Bondi

Detectives investigating an aggravated break and enter in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs in August are appealing for public assistance and have released footage of a man who might be able to assist police with inquiries.

About 9.00pm on Friday 23 August 2024, a woman was at home in a unit in Anglesea Street, Bondi, when she disturbed a man who had gained entry to the unit through an unlocked door.

The woman called out to the male, who immediately ran from the unit via a back door.

She contacted 000 and officers from Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command attended, along with an officer from the Dog Squad.

Despite a search of the area, police were unable to locate the man.

Police established a crime scene, which was examined by specialist officers.

As part of the investigation, police conducted a canvass of neighbours and nearby businesses in an attempt to identify the man.

Investigating police have released footage of a man who may be able to assist with inquiries.

The man is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 180cm tall, and thin build. He was wearing light blue jeans, a grey long-sleeved shirt and a black mask that covered his face.
