Teenager charged after alleged assault and robbery of man - Northern Beaches

A teenager has been charged after the alleged assault and robbery of a man on Sydney’s Northern Beaches earlier this year.
About 12.45am on Monday 22 January 2024, police were called to a park on Abbott Road, North Curl Curl, following reports of an assault.
Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command attended and were told a 47-year-old man arranged to meet with a male he met on an online dating app.
Police were told after arriving at the park, the 47-year-old man was allegedly assaulted by a group of people, who also allegedly stole his belongings.
The group left the scene prior to the arrival of police.
Detectives attached to Strike Force Dividing commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Strike Force Dividing was established to investigate assaults committed by juvenile males on adult males who they arranged to meet via online dating apps.
Following inquiries, a 16-year-old boy was arrested at Manly Police Station yesterday (Tuesday 22 October 2024).
He was charged with robbery in company and knowingly deal with proceeds of crime.
The 16-year-old boy was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a Children’s Court on Wednesday 20 November 2024.
Investigations under Strike Force Dividing continue.
