Lake Macquarie Police District are excited to announce the Emergency and Essential Services Expo which will take place at Speers Point Park tomorrow (Saturday 26 October 2024).

The family-friendly event will showcase the capabilities of local emergency and essential services, providing a unique opportunity for the community to engage with those who keep us safe every day.

The expo will bring together representatives from a range of emergency and essential services, including NSW Police, Fire and Rescue NSW, the NSW Rural Fire Service, NSW Ambulance, State Emergency Service, Marine Rescue NSW, and many other vital organisations.

Attendees will have the chance to view equipment displays from a wide range of services, take part in interactive demonstrations, and meet the dedicated professionals who serve the Lake Macquarie and wider NSW community.

Lake Macquarie Police District Acting Superintendent Christopher Breed said the event provided an opportunity for the community to see behind the scenes.

“It's a great opportunity for the community to see the collaborative efforts of our emergency services and the vital roles they play in keeping us safe,” A/Supt Breed said.

“A wide range of interactive activities and engaging demonstrations have been planned, and we’re looking forward to seeing the community out in large numbers to support the event.”

NSW Minister for Police and Counter-terrorism Yasmin Catley said the event hopes to build stronger relationships between emergency services and the community.

“The emergency and essential services expo is a fantastic initiative that gives the community the opportunity to engage with those who work tirelessly to keep us safe,” Minister Catley said.

“Events like these are crucial for fostering a strong relationship between the community and our emergency services and they provide a platform for education and awareness of the vital work being done every day.”

The event will be held at Speers Point Park between 9am and 1pm tomorrow (Saturday 26 October 2024).
