Police investigating suspicious death - Bourke

Police have established a crime scene after the body of a woman was located in the state’s west.

Shortly after 8am today (Tuesday 29 October 2024), officers from Central North Police District responded to reports the body of a woman had been located along Parkdale Road, Bourke.

Officers have secured a crime scene and are awaiting the arrival of specialist police.

Whilst yet to be formally identified, the woman is believed to be aged 47-years-old.

A 49-year-old man known to the woman is currently assisting with inquiries at Bourke Police Station.

No further information is available at this stage.
