Man charged following alleged public place shooting at Sanctuary Point

A man will appear in court after being charged following an alleged public place shooting in the state’s south earlier this month.
About 7:20am on Friday 18October 2024, police were called to an address in Links Avenue, Sanctuary Point, following a report a bullet hole was allegedly found in a window.
On arrival, officers attached to the South Coast Police District established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
On Thursday (24 October 2024), police received reports a man had allegedly produced a gun during an incident on Berry Street, Nowra.
On Friday (25 October 2024), a BMW 3 Series was located near Yalwal Road, West Nowra, after allegedly being destroyed by fire.
Following inquiries, about 11:15am yesterday (Tuesday 29 October 2024), police with the assistance of the Southern Region Enforcement Squad, attended a home on Maclean Street, Nowra, and arrested a 25-year-old man who was taken to Nowra Police Station.
Officers also executed search warrants at the Maclean Street property and at Depot Road, West Nowra, and located and seized a number of items allegedly linked to the investigation.
The man was charged with:
- Fire firearm at dwelling-house with disregard for safety;
- Be carried in conveyance taken w/o consent of owner;
- Acquire etc firearm - subject to prohibition order;
- Use unauthorised prohibited firearm;
- Damage property by fire/explosive;
- Supply prohibited drug;
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period
He was refused bail to appear before Nowra Local Court today (Wednesday 30 October 2024).
