Five charged over alleged affray - Coonamble

Police have charged five people after an alleged assault in the state’s west.
About 2pm on Monday (28 October 2024), emergency services were called to a home on Bertram Street, Coonamble, following reports of an alleged assault.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District attended and were told a group of people were allegedly involved in an affray, before one man was taken to Coonamble Hospital with a stab wound to his left arm.
Police attended Coonamble Hospital and spoke with the injured 40-year-old man. He was later flown to Royal North Shore Hospital where he’s reported to be in a stable condition.
A crime scene was established as an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident commenced.
Police arrested a 30-year-old man at a home on Limerick Street, Coonamble, about 9pm that same day. He was taken to Coonamble Police Station and charged with reckless grievous bodily harm.
He was refused bail and appeared before Dubbo Local Court yesterday (Tuesday 29 October 2024), where he was again refused bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday (19 November 2024).
Following further inquiries, police arrested four people in the Coonamble area yesterday (Wednesday 30 October 2024).
• A 31-year-old woman was charged with enter dwelling with intention and affray. She was granted conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 19 November 2024.
• A 28-year-old woman was charged with enter dwelling with intention and affray. She was refused bail to appear at Dubbo Local Court today (Thursday 31 October 2024).
• A 25-year-old man was charged with affray. He was granted conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 17 December 2024.
• A 27-year-old woman was charged with enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse. She was granted conditional bail to appear at Coonamble Local Court on Tuesday 17 December 2024.
