Six charged following alleged break and enter, pursuit - Newcastle

Four teenagers and two adults have been charged following an alleged break in and pursuit near Newcastle.
Operation Regional Mongoose is a high-visibility police operation to tackle serious property-related crime, committed predominately by young offenders.
About 12:30am on Saturday (2 November 2024), police were called to a home on Minimbah Close, Wallsend, following reports a Nissan X-Trail had allegedly been stolen from the premises.
Officers attached to Newcastle City Police District attended and commenced investigations into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
About 3am on Sunday (3 November 2024), the vehicle was allegedly involved in a pursuit in Wilkinson Avenue, Birmingham Gardens.
Following inquiries, about 7am on Monday (4 November 2024), policed attended a property in Jesmond and arrested a 17-year-old boy, a 15-year-old girl, a 40-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman.
About 8pm on Tuesday (5 November 2024), police attended a unit in Blue Gum Road, Jesmond, where they arrested two 17-year-old boys.
They were all taken to Waratah Police Station and charged as follows:
- One of the 17-year-old boys was charged with aggravated break & enter in company, steal, take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, never licensed person drive vehicle on road, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously and attempted aggravated break & enter in company steal. He was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court on Monday 16 December 2024.
- The 15-year-old girl charged with be carried in conveyance without consent of owner and two counts of shoplifting. She was granted strict conditional bail to appear before a Children’s Court on Monday 11 November 2024.
- The 39-year-old woman was charged with breach of bail conditions. She was refused bail to appear before Newcastle Local Court on Thursday 14 November 2024.
- The 40-year-old man was charged with drive conveyance taken without consent of owner. He was refused bail to appear in Newcastle Local Court on Friday 8 November 2024.
- One of the 17-year-old boys was charged with aggravated break & enter in company steal, be carried in conveyance without consent of owner, two counts of attempted aggravated break & enter in company steal, larceny and possess prohibited drug. He was refused bail to appear before a Children’s Court on Monday 11 November 2024.
- The other 17-year-old boy was charged with aggravated break & enter in company steal, be carried in conveyance without consent of owner, two counts of attempted aggravated break & enter in company steal and larceny. He was granted strict conditional bail, to appear before a Children’s Court on Monday 18 November 2024.
