Man arrested after stabbing - Mt Druitt

A man is in custody after a stabbing in Sydney’s west, which has left another man in a serious condition.

About 8am today (Friday 8 November 2024), emergency services responded to reports of a man being stabbed multiple times inside a convenience store on Dawson Mall, Mt Druitt.

NSW Ambulance paramedics treated a 42-year-old man at the scene before he was taken to Westmead Hospital. The man is currently undergoing surgery and is reported to be in a stable condition.

Officers from Mt Druitt Police Area Command were informed that a male was seen to flee the scene on foot and enter a taxi on North Parade where he was driven from the location.

It will be alleged that the man exited the taxi and entered a fast-food restaurant on Jersey Road, Plumpton.

A short time later, a 38-year-old man was arrested on a nearby street. The man was taken to Mt Druitt Police Station where he is assisting with inquiries.

Officers have established crime scenes at the convenience store and the fast-food restaurant. The taxi has also been seized for forensic examination.
