Woman charged over alleged fraud of elderly woman - Camden

A woman has been charged with over 50 offences relating to an alleged fraud involving an elderly woman.
Officers attached to Camden Police Area Command were notified in October 2024 and commenced an investigation relating to the alleged fraud of an 89-year-old woman, who was a resident of a nursing home in the Camden area.
Just after 6.00pm yesterday (Monday 18 November 2024), police attended the nursing home and arrested a 46-year-old woman.
She was taken to Camden police station where she was charged with 52 offences – dishonestly obtain financial advantage by deception (35 counts), larceny and drive whilst disqualified (16 counts) and stealing.
She was refused bail to appear in Moss Vale Local Court today (Tuesday 19 November 2024), where bail was formally refused, to appear in the same Court on Tuesday 14 January 2025.
Police will allege in court the woman fraudulently stole more than $18,000 in 311 fraudulent transactions from the woman while caring for her at the nursing home.
