Police appeal for information following alleged child approach near Albury

Police are appealing for information about a reported child approach in the state’s south earlier this month.
A teenage girl has told police she was approached by man in a vehicle between 12.30pm and 1pm on Tuesday 5 November 2024, at the intersection of Wagga Road and McDonald Road, Lavington.
The driver of the car pulled into the driveway blocking the path of a 15-year-old girl, before speaking to the girl.
The driver then reportedly followed her for about a minute before driving off and driving east along Wagga Road.
Later that day, the incident was reported to officers at Albury Police Station.
Police commenced an investigation into the circumstances.
Following inquiries, police are appealing for dashcam footage or information of anyone who may have seen a late-model white Holden Commodore station wagon with yellow number plates travelling on Wagga Road, Lavington, between 12.30pm and 1pm on Tuesday 5 November.
Police have released a description of a man who police believe may be able to assist with their inquiries. He is a described as Caucasian male, aged 35 to 40, with black ‘sleeve’ tattoos on both arms. At the time he was driving the Commodore station wagon.
