A third man has been charged over an incident at Doonside yesterday.

About 12.30am yesterday (Friday 22 November 2024), officers attached to the North West Metropolitan Region attended Hill End Road, Doonside, following reports five men were fighting.

Police will allege four men left the scene in a hatchback, with a fifth man allegedly leaving on foot.

A pursuit was initiated by OSG, with assistance of officers from Blacktown and Mt Druitt police area commands, PolAir and North West Metropolitan Region Enforcement Squad (RES).

A short time later, the pursuit was terminated on Power Street when the car hit a pole and four men allegedly ran away.

Police followed the men on foot and arrested an 18-year-old man at Parkwood Street, Plumpton.

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Kilto Road, Doonside, who allegedly stabbed a 34-year-old police officer in the chest during the arrest.

Both men have been charged and remain before the courts.

The officer was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics before he was taken to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.

He was released from hospital later that evening (Friday 22 November 2024) and is expected to fully recover from his injuries.

A 21-year-old man was also arrested on Parkwood Street, Plumpton, before he was taken to Westmead Hospital for assessment.

After release from hospital last night (Friday 22 November 2024), the man was taken to Blacktown Police Station and charged with affray, armed with intent to commit indictable offence, custody of knife in public place, and an intimidation.

He was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 23 November 2024).

Police continue to make inquiries into the identity and whereabouts of two other men believed to be involved in the incident.
