Driver charged following serious pedestrian crash - Strathfield

A man has been charged after a serious pedestrian crash in Sydney’s south west earlier this week.
About 10pm on Tuesday 26 November 2024, emergency services were called to Liverpool Road, Strathfield, following reports a pedestrian was hit by a car.
Officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command attended and found a 24-year-old woman on the roadway.
She was treated at the scene by NSW Ambulance paramedics before being taken to Royal Prince Alfred hospital with serious injuries.
Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash.
The driver, a 30-year-old man, was uninjured and subjected to roadside testing, which returned negative results.
The man was arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station where he was charged with negligent driving and dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous.
He was granted conditional bail to appear before Burwood Local Court on Thursday 12 December 2024.
His licence was also suspended.
