Appeal for information after attempted armed robbery - Moree

Police are appealing for public assistance after an alleged attempted armed robbery in the state’s west.
About 8.50pm on Friday 6 September 2024, police were called to a business on Adelaide Street, Moree, following reports of an armed hold up.
Upon arrival, officers attached to New England Police District were told an unknown woman allegedly threatened a staff member with a machete – demanding money – before leaving the scene.
The 37-year-old male staff member was uninjured.
As inquiries continue, police are hoping to speak to a woman who may be able to assist with the investigation.
The woman is described as being of Aboriginal/Torres Strait Islander appearance, between the age of 20-40m, with a large build.
She was last seen wearing a light blue hooded jumper, black tracksuit pants, black sunglasses, white fabric/face mask covering the mouth area and a black hat.
