Teen charged over alleged break and enter - Operation Mongoose West

A teenage boy has been charged following an alleged break and enter in the state’s west.

About 10.30am on Sunday 6 October 2024, officers attached to New England Police District were called to a home on Edward Street, Moree, following reports of a break and enter.

Police attended and were told unknown people had allegedly forced entry into the property, before leaving with cash and personal items.

A crime scene was established, and an investigation commenced with the scene examined by specialist officers.

Following an extensive investigation, about 12.45pm yesterday (Wednesday 27 November 2024), a 14-year-old boy attended Moree Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with aggravated break and enter etc in company steal less than or equal to $60000.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Children’s Court on Thursday 19 December 2024.

Investigations are continuing.
