Man charged following alleged armed robbery at Belmore

A man will appear in court today after being charged following an alleged armed robbery at a business in Belmore.
About 5pm yesterday (Monday 2 December 2024), a 24-year-old man attended a property on Burwood Road, Belmore.
When the man arrived, he was allegedly assaulted and robbed by a 33-year-old man.
About 5:30pm, the man was allowed to leave the property and called police.
Officers attached to Campsie Police Area Command attended, and arrested the 33-year-old man.
A 20-year-old man who was also at the property during the alleged incident left before police arrived.
The 33-year-old was taken to Campsie Police Station and charged with robbery while armed with dangerous weapon and supply prohibited drug.
He was refused bail to appear before Bankstown Local Court today (Tuesday 3 December 2024).
Inquiries into the incident are ongoing.
