Four charged following alleged pursuit - Strike Force Sweetenham

Three men and a teenage boy have been charged by Detectives from the Inner West Police Area Command and Strike Force Sweetenham following an alleged pursuit in Sydney’s Inner West.
Strike Force Sweetenham is a metropolitan region investigation into the theft of high-performance and luxury vehicles.
About 3am yesterday (Tuesday 3 December 2024), police received a report of an alleged break and enter at a home on The Crescent, Linley Point.
Officers were told a Mercedes AMG and other items had allegedly been stolen by unknown people.
About 11pm on the same day, officers attached to Auburn Police Area Command sighted the car on Silverwater Road, Silverwater, before they attempted to stop the vehicle.
When it failed to stop, a pursuit was initiated, with assistance of PolAir, Dog Unit and Traffic and Highway Patrol Command.
A short time later, the pursuit was terminated due to safety concerns.
Following further inquiries, police arrested three men – aged 18 – and a teenage boy on Lee Lane, Sydenham.
They were taken to Newtown Police Station where they were charged as follows:
- An 18-year-old man was charged with

- Enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse
- Fail to comply digital evidence access order direction
- Aggravated break and enter in company damage property less than or equal to $60000
- Face blackened/disguised with intention to commit indictable offence

The three 18-year-olds were refused bail to appear before Newtown Local Court today (Wednesday 4 December 2024).
The 15-year-old boy was refused bail and will appear before a Children’s Court today (Wednesday 4 December 2024).
