Man charged after replica firearm seized in Tamworth

A man has been charged after police seized a replica firearm in Tamworth last week.
About 10.30pm on Friday 6 December 2024, officers attached to Oxley Police District attended a home on Glengarvin Drive, Oxley Vale, following reports of a confrontation.
Police arrived and were told about 4pm, an unknown man had allegedly produced a replica firearm and pointed it at a 20-year-old man at a property on Jemmy Place, Oxley Vale.
Following inquiries, police conducted a search of a property at Jemmy Place, Oxley Vale, and allegedly found a replica firearm.
The replica firearm was seized for forensic examination.
An 18-year-old male was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station where he was charged with possess unauthorised firearm.
He was granted bail to appear at Tamworth Local Court on Monday 13 January 2025.
