Teens charged with knife offences - Blacktown

Two teenage boys have been arrested and charged with knife offences in Sydney’s west.
About 3.30pm yesterday (Tuesday 10 December 2024) police were called to a shopping centre on Patrick Street, Blacktown following reports of a brawl.
Officers attached to Blacktown Police Area Command attended and were told three people had allegedly been involved in an incident, in which two people produced knives.
The group left the scene prior to the arrival of police.
Police attached to the Blacktown Police Area Command, along with officers from Operation Kella, North West Metropolitan Region - Operations Support Group, State Crime Command – Raptor, Central Metropolitan Region Odin and the Police Transport Command, initiated a coordinated response as part of Operation Ensure, a Northwest Metropolitan Pro-active police operation established to specifically target and respond to youth and gang related knife crime in Western Sydney
Following a short foot pursuit, two boys – aged 15 and 16 – were arrested at Blacktown railway station.
They were taken to Blacktown Police Station where they were charged with:
- Affray
- Use offensive weapon with intent to commit indictable offence
- Custody of knife in public place
Both were refused bail and will appear before a Children's Court today, Wednesday 11 December 2024
