One dead when SUV and ute crash on M7 near Blacktown

A woman has died and three men have escaped serious injury after a two-vehicle crash which has blocked eastbound lanes of the M7 near Blacktown.
Emergency services were called to the Sunnyholt Road off-ramp at Acacia Gardens about 3.40pm (Thursday 12 December 2024), after an SUV and a ute – both travelling east – collided.
An 80-year-old woman travelling in the front-passenger seat of the SUV died at the scene.
The male driver of the SUV, aged in his 80s, and two men in the ute, both aged in their 20s, escaped serious injury. Both drivers have been taken for mandatory testing.
Diversions for eastbound traffic are in place at Richmond Road with road users advised the road will be closed for some time while Crash Unit Investigators examine the scene.

Police are appealing for dashcam vision or witnesses to the crash which involved a dark-grey Suzuki X-Cross Turbo SUV and a dark-grey Mazda BT50.
