Man charged with alleged fraud offences - Riverina PD

A man has been charged with fraud offences allegedly involving the livestock trade in the state’s south.
In October 2024, Rural Crime Investigators from Riverina Police District Strike Force Brighton to investigate allegations that horse and cattle were fraudulently being traded.
Following inquiries, on Wednesday 11 December 2024, police executed a search warrant at a property on the Sturt Highway, Collingullie.
Documents, ammunition and a horse were seized from the property.
Following investigations, a 49-year-old man was arrested about 9am yesterday (Tuesday 17 December 2024), at Wagga Wagga Police Station.
He was charged with 14 offences, including 11 counts of dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, two counts of steal cattle, and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.
He was refused bail to appear at Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Wednesday 18 December 2024).
