Fatal single-vehicle crash - Lake Macquarie

A woman has died following a single-vehicle crash at Lake Macquarie early this morning.

About 1.40am (Thursday 19 December 2024), emergency services responded to Main Road, Edgeworth, following reports of a crash.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District attended and found a car had crashed into a telegraph pole.

The driver of the car, a woman aged 31, died at the scene.

The passenger, a 33-year-old woman, was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics and taken to John Hunter Hospital in a serious condition.

A crime scene has been established as police investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
