Fatal crash near Port Macquarie

A motorcyclist has died following a two-vehicle crash near Port Macquarie today.
About 12.30pm (Saturday 28 December 2024) emergency services were called to the Oxley Highway at Long Flat – about 47km west of Port Macquarie – following reports of a two-vehicle crash.
Police have been told a motorcycle and a Toyota Landcruiser collided in the west bound lanes.
Witnesses assisted the motorcyclist prior to the arrival of NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.
While the rider is yet to be formally identified, he is believed to be a man in his late 60s.
The driver of the Landcruiser – a man in his 60’s – was uninjured and taken to hospital for mandatory testing.
Officers from Mid North Coast Police District have established a crime scene, which will be forensically examined.
As inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the crash continue, police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who has dashcam footage of the area around the time of the incident to contact local police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
