Body located following search for missing boy - Chipping Norton

A body has been located during the search for a boy reported missing from Sydney’s south-west.

The 5-year-old was reported missing to officers from Liverpool City Police Area Command on Thursday (2 January 2025) when he could not be located or contacted.

Police commenced inquiries into his whereabouts and a search continued in the Chipping Norton and surrounding areas.

Following inquiries, about 10.10pm on the same day, a body was located in the water during the search.

While the body is yet to be formally identified, it is believed to be that of the missing boy.

Police are not treating the matter as suspicious at this stage.

A report will be prepared for the information of the Coroner.
