Two charged over public place shooting - Guildford

Police have charged two men over an alleged public place shooting in Sydney’s west last week.

About 2am on Saturday (28 December 2024), police were called to Dudley Road, Guildford, following reports of an alleged public place shooting.

Officers attached to Cumberland Police Area Command were informed of a group of individuals involved in a fight.

It is believed a firearm was discharged into the air during an altercation before they left the scene.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation into the incident.

Following intensive inquiries, including an appeal for public assistance, about 4.45pm yesterday (Friday 3 January 2025), police arrested two men – both aged 22 – in Granville area.

They were taken to Granville Police Station where one of them was charged with discharge firearm etc intend cause grievous bodily harm, affray, and reckless wounding.

The other man was charged with affray and reckless wounding in company.

They were both refused bail to appear at Parramatta Local Court today (Saturday 4 January 2025).
