Appeal to locate missing man - Central West PD

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a man missing from the states Central West.

Stephen Quartly, aged 57, was last seen about 12pm yesterday (Thursday 2 January 2025), at Cookamidgera, about 20km east of Parkes.

When he could not be located or contacted, officers attached to the Central West Police District were notified and commenced inquiries into his whereabouts.

Police and family hold concerns for Stephen’s welfare due to a medical condition that he lives with.

He is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 172cm, thin build, light brown complexion, short grey hair, brown eyes, unshaven, a large scar on his head and tattoos on both arms.

Stephen was last seen wearing white singlet and shorts.

He is known to frequent the Cookamidgera, Parkes and Eugowra areas.

Local police – with the assistance of Police Rescue and the State Emergency Services – are currently conducting a land search in the Cookamidgera area for Stephen.
