Appeal to locate missing elderly man - Newcastle

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate an elderly man missing in the Newcastle area.

Ross Wales, aged 84, was last seen on Zaara Street, Newcastle, about 1.00pm today (Monday 6 January 2025).

Unable to be located or contacted since, officers attached to Newcastle City Police District were notified and commenced inquiries to find him.

Family and police hold concerns for Ross’s welfare as he lives with medical conditions which require regular medication.

Ross is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall, of solid build, with short grey hair.

He was last seen wearing beige-coloured shorts, a blue coloured T-shirt and white shoes. He was carrying a distinctive white coloured bag with brown pattern.

Ross is a visitor to Newcastle and does not know the area.
