Escapee located - Bathurst

An inmate who escaped from Corrective Services NSW custody in the State’s west today has been located.

The 26-year-old man was last seen in the grounds of a golf course on Vittoria Street, Bathurst, about 7.55am today (Monday 6 January 2025)

Officers attached to Chifley Police District were notified and immediately commenced inquiries to locate him.

Following inquiries, the man was located in West Bathurst.

He was taken to Bathurst Police Station where he was charged with inmate escape / attempt to escape from lawful custody and enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse.

The man was refused bail and will appear at Bathurst Local Court later today (Monday 6 January 2025).
