Man charged after two-vehicle crash - Hazelbrook

A man has been charged following a two-vehicle crash in the Blue Mountains last week.

About 3.50pm on Friday 3 January 2025, emergency services were called to the intersection of the Great Western Highway and Oaklands Road, at Hazelbrook, after reports of a two-vehicle crash.

Officers attached to Blue Mountain Police Area Command attended, along with NSW Ambulance paramedics, who treated the two drivers and three passengers.

A female driver was airlifted to Westmead Hospital with serious leg injuries.

A crime scene was established and an investigation into the circumstances of crash commenced.

Following an investigation by officers attached to the Metropolitan Crash Investigation Unit, about 11.00am today (Tuesday 7 January 2025), police arrested a 39-year-old man at Mt Druitt Police Station.

The man was charged with four offences - dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm – drive manner dangerous, negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm) – second offence, cause bodily harm by misconduct in charge of a motor vehicle and not stop at red light.

The man’s drivers’ licence was also suspended by police.

The man was refused bail to appear at Mt Druitt Local Court today (Tuesday 7 January 2025), where he was granted conditional bail, to appear before the same Court on Wednesday 22 January 2025.
