Following inquiries, a 29-year-old man – a constable attached to a command in the North West Metropolitan Region – was arrested at a home in Claremont Meadows about 7am today (Friday 10 January 2025), and taken to Penrith Police Station.

A short time later, investigators attended a home in Chester Hill and executed a search warrant, seizing electronic devices, mobile phones and documents relevant to the investigation. The seized items will be forensically examined.

The officer was charged with holder of public office misconduct him or herself and ten counts of unauthorised access to or modification of restricted data held in computer.

He has been refused bail to appear before at Penrith Local Court today (Friday 10 January 2025).

The officer is currently suspended from duty.
