Man charged over alleged drug supply - Mid North Coast

A man has been charged with alleged drug supply and traffic offences on the Mid North Coast over the weekend.
About 1.45pm yesterday (Sunday 12 January 2025), police were called to a correctional facility at Kempsey following reports packages had been thrown over a perimeter fence.
Police will allege in court that the packages contained amounts of methamphetamine, heroin, buprenorphine and tobacco.
A short time later, police attempted to stop a man on an electric motorcycle in West Kempsey.
The rider allegedly failed to stop as directed and a pursuit was initiated, continuing to Sea Street, West Kempsey, where a 33-year-old man was arrested.
He was taken to Kempsey Police Station where he was charged with two counts of supply prohibited drug (less than or equal to small quantity), supply prohibited drug (greater than indictable and less than commercial quantity), bring etc prohibited drug/plant into place of detention, police pursuit - not stop - drive dangerously, and drive motor vehicle during disqualification period.
He was refused bail to appear before Kempsey Local Court today (Monday 13 January 2025), where he was formally refused bail to appear before the same court on Thursday 23 January 2025.
