Appeal for information following death - Lake Macquarie

Detectives are appealing for information following the death of a man found critically injured at a Gateshead home last week.

Shortly after 11pm on Thursday 9 January 2025, emergency services were called to a home on Mahogany Crescent following a concern for welfare.

A 37-year-old man was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics; however, he died at the scene.

Officers attached to Lake Macquarie Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries into the incident.

A postmortem conducted yesterday (Monday 13 January 2025) revealed that the man sustained several stab wounds.

Local police – assisted by the State Crime Command's Homicide Squad – are treating the death as suspicious.
