Man charged over multiple break and enters in Goulburn - The Hume PD

Police have charged a man over a number of break and enters and theft in state’s south.
On Saturday (11 January 2025), officers attached to The Hume Police District commenced an investigation following reports of items were stolen from number of businesses and a community facility:
- Just after 6.30pm on Saturday (11 January 2025), a business on Endeavour Drive Goulburn was broken in before an unknown man took number of packages before leaving the scene. This venue was broken in again on Wednesday (22 January 2025), where further items were stolen.
- About 9pm on Thursday (16 January 2025), a man allegedly entered a community facility on Blackshaw Road, Goulburn before he stole a bicycle and left the scene.
- About 5.30pm on Wednesday (22 January 2025), a man allegedly failed to pay for grocery at a business in a shopping centre on Auburn Street, Goulburn.
Initial inquiries alleged the four incidents are linked.
Following extensive inquiries, about 10.45am today (22 January 2025), police arrested a 47-year-old man at an address on Jacqua Avenue, Goulburn.
Police also seized bikes, his clothes and packages – believed to be stolen –for a forensic examination.
He was taken to Goulburn Police Station where he was charged with break and enter house etc steal value less than or equal to $60,000(three counts), shoplifting, and goods suspected stolen in/on premises.
He was refused bail to appear at Goulburn Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 23 January 2025).
