Police investigate suspicious grass fires - Barrier PD

Police are appealing for information following three suspicious scrub fires in the state’s far west.
About 1.30am on Tuesday 28 January 2025, emergency services were called to a grass fire on Wyman Street, Broken Hill, near McCulloch Street.
The NSW Rural Fire Service responded, putting out the blaze, which burnt bushland. No structures were damaged.
At 3am, the NSW Rural Fire Service were called to Nicholls Street, to put out a small scrub fire which burnt bushland. Again, no structures were damaged.
At 4am, there was a report of a third scrub fire at Crystal Street, near Garnet Street. The fire was quickly put out, with no damage to property.
Officers attached to Barrier Police District attended the three fires and commenced an investigation.
Investigators believe the three incidents are linked.
