Man charged after allegedly stalking young girls - Eastern Suburbs

A man has been charged after he allegedly stalked a group of young girls across Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs earlier this week.
On Monday 27 January 2025, officers attached to Eastern Suburbs Police Area Command received a report that a man was allegedly stalking a group of four 12-year-old girls across Bondi.
Police were told the man allegedly followed the young girls through a shopping centre in Bondi Junction, about 1pm Friday 24 January 2025, before the girls ran away from the man.
About 6pm the same day, the man blocked the girls from walking across a pedestrian crossing with a vehicle at North Bondi, before yelling at the girls and driving away.
Police were further told that about 2.45pm Monday 27 January 2025, the girls were in the water off Bondi Beach, when they allegedly saw the man watching them from the shore.
The girls left the scene after the man allegedly entered the water and began to swim towards the group.
After receiving the report police immediately commenced an investigation into the incident.
Following investigations, police arrested a 62-year-old man on Arnold Street, Queens Park, about 6.40am today (Thursday 30 January 2025).
The man was taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with four counts of stalk/intimidate intend fear physical harm.
The 62-year-old man was refused bail to appear before Waverley Local Court today.
