Man charged with fraud, break and enter, theft offences - Wollongong

A man is due to face court charged with multiple offences including break and enter, stealing and fraud alleged to have been committed in the Wollongong area.
Just after 1.40pm yesterday (Friday 31 January 2025), officers attached to Wollongong Police District were called to Panmills Drive, Bulli, following reports a man – who was wanted on warrants – had been sighted by a member of public.
When police arrived, police were told the man was in bushland and a perimeter was established with assistance sought from PolAir.
Following inquiries, police arrested a 51-year-old man on Pass Avenue, Thirroul.
Further inquiries alleged the man stole a bicycle from one of the houses on Pass Avenue before he was arrested.
He was taken to Wollongong Police Station where he was charged with aggravated break and enter with intent knowing person there, larceny, and four counts of enter prescribed premises of any person without lawful excuse.
He was also charged with dishonestly obtain financial advantage etc by deception, on an outstanding warrant.
He was refused bail to appear at Parramatta Bail Court today (Saturday 1 February 2025).
