Help sought after woman stabbed in leg during robbery - Dubbo

Police are appealing for information from the public after a woman was injured and robbed in Dubbo overnight.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District have been told a 27-year-old woman was staying in a motel on Victoria Street, Dubbo, at 9pm yesterday (Monday 3 February 2025), when an unknown man knocked on the door.
Police were told that the man – who was armed with a kitchen knife – took the woman’s mobile phone and handbag before attempting to leave.
When the woman – who was holding her 10-month-old baby at the time – tried to prevent the man from leaving she was stabbed in the right thigh. The man left the scene in a white Ford Territory.
The woman sought help from motel staff before being taken to Dubbo Base Hospital for treatment.
Police were told a second child was present at the time of the incident, though no injuries to either child were reported.
A crime scene was established and an investigation into the incident commenced, with police working to determine whether or not the incident was targeted.
Police have released a description of a man they believe can assist with inquiries. He’s described as being aged about 30, of medium build, and dressed in all black.
