Child found deceased in car - Burwood PAC

An investigation has commenced after a child was located deceased in a car in Sydney’s Inner West.

About 5.35pm today (Tuesday 4 February 2025), emergency services responded to reports of a child being located unresponsive in a vehicle outside a childcare centre on Marana Road, Earlwood.

NSW Ambulance paramedics attended but the child – a 1-year-old girl - was declared deceased at the scene.

Officers from Burwood Police Area Command have established a crime scene and commenced an investigation.

A male occupant of the vehicle – believed to be related to the child – is assisting with inquiries at Burwood Police Station.
