Man charged with drug and firearms offences following search warrant - Charmhaven

A man will appear in Court after being charged with drug and firearms offences following a search warrant in the Central Coast area yesterday.

Following an investigation by officers attached to the Hunter Region Enforcement Squad into street-level drug supply in the Charmhaven area, about 9.00am on Wednesday 5 February 2025, police executed a search warrant at a house in Tingara Street, Charmhaven.

At the scene, a 39-year-old man was placed under arrest.

A subsequent search of the property allegedly revealed an estimated five ounces of methylamphetamine, a sawn-off 12-gauge shotgun, a home-made metal bolt-action pistol, numerous rounds of 12-gauge and .22 calibre ammunition, cash, identification in other people’s names and stolen number plates.

The man was taken to Wyong Police Station where he was charged with 14 offences: possess unregistered firearm – prohibited firearm, possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, not keep firearm safely – prohibited firearm, possess ammunition without holding a licence, supply prohibited drug, possess prohibited drug, goods in custody (two counts), deal with property – proceeds of crime, drive whilst disqualified, use unregistered vehicle, use uninsured vehicle, unlicensed driver and not stop vehicle when directed to do so.

He was refused bail to appear before Wyong Local Court today (Thursday 6 February 2025).
