Man charged over alleged assault - Eastern Beaches

A man will face court over an alleged assault on a beach in Sydney’s east.

About 7pm yesterday (7 February 2025), police were called to Little Congwong Beach, near Anzac Parade, La Perouse, following reports of an alleged assault.

Officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command were told two men – aged 57 and 24 – had an argument with a 31-year-old man due to an issue with the use of drone in the area before they were allegedly assaulted by the man.

Both men were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for facial injuries at the scene.

The 31-year-old man was taken to Waverley Police Station where he was charged with common assault, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, destroy or damage property less than or equal to $2000 (two counts), and refuse/fail to comply with direction under Part 14.

He was granted conditional bail to appear at Waverley Local Court on Wednesday 12 February 2025.
