CCTV released as part of investigation into vandalism and damage of statue - Randwick

Police have released CCTV of two people as part of an investigation into alleged vandalism of a statue in Sydney’s east last month.
About 8.15am on Friday 24 January 2025, officers attached to Eastern Beaches Police Area Command responded to reports of a statue damaged and vandalised with graffiti on Belmore Road, Randwick.
A crime scene was established and a number of items were seized by police at the location.
Police worked with Randwick Council to assist with the removal of the graffiti.
Initial inquiries suggest the damage to the statue occurred between 4am and 4.30am on Friday 24 January 2025.
As inquiries into the incident are ongoing, police have released CCTV of two people – a man and a woman - who might be able to assist with their inquiries.
The man seen in the CCTV is described as wearing a black jacket, a black t-shirt with a logo on it, dark pants, black sneakers, and black hair.
The woman in the images is described as wearing a green/grey jacket, black pants and thongs, with brown hair.
