Organised Crime Squad detectives have charged a man following the discovery of a clandestine lab and firearm under Strike Force Culverden.

Strike Force Culverden is an investigation by State Crime Command’s Organised Crime Squad and the NSW Crime Commission into the supply and manufacture of prohibited drugs.

Following extensive inquiries into a 30-year-old man, about 5.30pm on Wednesday 12 February 2025, strike force detectives executed a search warrant at a unit in Bexley.

An active clandestine laboratory was located and specialist police from the Drug and Firearms Squad’s Chemical Operations Unit, the Technical Forensic Support Unit and NSW Fire & Rescue were engaged to dismantle it.

Police also located a loaded pistol which was seized to undergo further forensic examination.

A 30-year-old was arrested at the scene and taken to Kogarah Police Station where he was charged with 20 commercial drug supply related offences relating to supplying drugs on more than 18 occasions between Sunday 22 December 2024 and Friday 27 December 2024.

The man was refused bail and appeared in Sutherland Local Court yesterday (Thursday 13 February 2025).

Investigations continue.
