Man charged after grenade and ammunition seized - Riverina PD

A man has been charged with weapon offences in the state’s south.

About 10am on Saturday 15 February 2025, police attended a home on Ziegler Avenue Kooringal.

Officers attached to Riverina Police District searched the home and seized a live military grade smoke grenade.

Police also seized ammunition and red and blue emergency lights from the vehicle parked in the driveway.

A 33-year-old man was arrested and taken to Wagga Wagga Police Station.

He was charged with possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit and possess ammunition without holding licence/permit/authority.

The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Sunday 16 February 2025, where he was further refused bail to reappear before Wagga Wagga Local Court on Monday 24 February 2025.
