Charges laid following alleged break and enters; vehicle theft - Dubbo

Two men have been charged – with one facing court today – following multiple alleged break and enters and a car theft in the state’s Orana region.
Officers attached to Orana Mid-Western Police District allege that about 1.30am on Friday 14 February 2025, two men – aged 19 and 21 – broke into an industrial complex on Energy Place, Dubbo, before stealing keys to a Toyota utility and driving off in the vehicle.
The two men then allegedly drove the ute to a bowling club on Jennings Street, Geurie, before the older man allegedly forced entry into the premises using several tools, then attempted to break into a safe and ATM inside.
About 9.30am on the same day, the ute was seen being driven to a home east of Dubbo.
Following inquiries, on Friday 14 February 2025 police attended a residence east of Dubbo, and found a 19-year-old man and the Toyota onsite.
He was arrested and taken to Dubbo Police Station where he was charged with take and drive conveyance without consent of owner, enter inclosed land not prescribed premises without lawful excuse, and breach of bail.
The man was refused bail to appear before Parramatta Local Court on Saturday 15 February 2025, where he was further refused bail to face Dubbo Local Court tomorrow (Wednesday 19 February 2025).
Following further investigations, about 4.40pm yesterday (Monday 17 February 2025), police arrested a 21-year-old man at a home east of Dubbo. He was taken to Dubbo Police Station, where he was charged with;
- Break and enter house etc steal,
- Take and drive conveyance without consent of owner,
- Enter building/land with intent to commit indictable offence,
- Break and enter dwelling - house etc with intent (steal),
- Drive motor vehicle during disqualification period – second offence,
- Commit s114 offence, having previous conviction,
- Face blackened/disguised with intent to commit indictable offence, and
- Possess housebreaking implements.
He was refused bail to face Dubbo Local Court today (Tuesday 18 February 2025), where he was formally refused bail to appear before the same court on Wednesday 26 March 2025.
